Hey all, I recorded this yesterday while out exercising. There was a meteor shower a few days ago and I wanted to go out and see if any impacts were on the sidewalks or trails. I noticed that impacts on the cement didn't leave marks as much as impacts on the blacktop trails and roads. I found a lot of impacts on a bike trail and they were all going the same direction from right to left streaks, so I can confirm they are meteorites. I have also seen these in other cities, people have mistakenly thought for years that these marks are fireworks, but they are not. As proof I have found these marks even more abundant last year in Kenting National Forest park. Its a place where no fireworks are allow and its all gated area, gov property protected for the animal and plants safety. There were a few thousand marks there too...and I asked the folks that worked there, they had no clue what it was or how the marks got there. Often finding small black burn stones around that were 1-4X pea size. So...look around, you might be more aware than anyone else in the whole country about whats falling from the sky.
