People were still hunter-gatherers, gradually beginning to cultivate early crops like maize, beans, and squash. A skull sculpture wasn’t just about death — it embodied the cycle of life, sacrifice, rebirth, and divine power. It reminded people that life was temporary, but through ritual, they could help keep the universe in balance.
They didn't create this for us, they did it as a reminder that it was their territory, their land, owned by them forever.
