This day in History, Pilot encounters giant pyramid-shaped UFO over Pelotas, Brazil, Oct 5, 1996, UFO Sighting News.

Perhaps the most impressive UFO story told during the recent Brazilian World UFO Forum was that of Haraldo Westendorf, who made news headlines a year ago when he allegedly flew his private plane within a few dozen meters of an enormous unidentified flying object. Westendorf is 40 years old, a father of three children and a successful businessman. He is also an avid private pilot rated for acrobatic flying. The following account is based directly on his one-hour presentation at the Brazilian UFO conference, which included several detailed illustrations. Westendorf says he took off in his single-engine Piper Apache [correction: the plane was actually an Embraer EMB-712, the Brazilian version of the Piper Cherokee Archer II] from the city of Pelotas near the southernmost tip of Brazil on the morning of November 5, 1996. It was to be a routine recreational flight of the kind he takes for fun whenever time allows. On this occasion, he had been in the air only about 12 minutes and was flying at an altitude of 5,000 feet over a large lake some five miles southeast of Pelotas when he saw ahead of him an enormous aerial object. The time was about 10:30 a.m. He radioed the Pelotas tower to learn if they could see the object from the ground. They confirmed that the object was visible to them and asked him for a close-range report. Westendorf then decided to fly as close as he could. Westendorf emphasizes that he did not believe in UFOs and says this accounts for his initial willingness to fly close to the object. He didn't know he might be in danger. When he got close to the object, he realized that in his twenty years of piloting experience he had never seen or heard of anything like it. Since he had done stunt training in the United States and had also flown in France, he had become acquainted with some very advanced and exotic aircraft. But he knew that this was not an airplane. Westendorf showed several detailed color drawings of the object, with his own plane drawn to scale alongside it. He describes the object as a faceted cone, flat on the bottom with a rounded point on top. On each of the eight or ten sloping side panels were three large bulges, like triangle-shaped bay windows on the side of a house -- but they did not look like windows. The entire surface was brown in color. The structure was about 70 meters (225 feet) high and about 100 meters (325 feet) in diameter, big enough to fill nearly an entire soccer field if landed. His own plane, less than 6 meters wide, was tiny by comparison. Westendorf says he spent about 12 to 14 minutes in close proximity to the object, trying to see as much as he could. Although the Pelotas air tower does not have radar, he believes the airport radar at Curitiba (nearly 450 nautical miles northeast of his position) tracked the whole encounter. However, officials at Curitiba deny this (see below). The object was spinning around slowly and moving southeast toward the nearby seacoast at a speed of about 60 nautical miles per hour. Westendorf managed to fly entirely around the base of the object three times. At one point, he says, his wingtip came within about 40 meters of the object. After his third lap around the object, Westendorf noticed that the rounded top seemed to disappear, leaving what looked like an open hole at the top. Then he saw, emerging from inside the object, a classic flying saucer. It rose sideways, its long axis vertical until it cleared the top of the larger object, then tipped down to assume its normal orientation and departed at tremendous speed. Westendorf said that this saucer was about 10 meters in diameter, or nearly twice as wide as his own plane, and he thinks it flew away at more than Mach 10. The saucer showed no indication of noticing Westendorf's presence nearby. As soon as the saucer disappeared, Westendorf decided to try to fly over the top of the object. Brazilian media later reported that he wanted to fly his plane into the interior of the object, but he says he never even considered that. He only hoped for a peek through the opening. To get more altitude, he flew his plane several hundred meters away from the object, turned around and began a steep climb. He noticed that the object was now rotating much faster. Then he saw brilliant beams of red light shoot from the top of the object toward the sky. He quickly abandoned his plan to fly over the top. Then, to his amazement, the object rose straight up at tremendous speed. For the first time, Westendorf was scared, because he believed the object's rapid acceleration might produce a shock wave of turbulence that could overwhelm his own plane. As a trained pilot, he knew that air traffic controllers recommend staying at least three minutes behind a large aircraft to avoid such turbulence. He estimated that the unidentified object probably weighed at least three times as much as a 747 jumbo jet, so its shock wave should be huge -- and he was only a few hundred meters away. He quickly began emergency procedures in case his plane went into a spin or a stall. But to his surprise, he did not encounter any turbulence.

This Day In UFO History: July 20, 2005 UFO Fleet Recorded Over Connecticut Forest, UFO Sighting News.

Date of sighting: July 20, 2005
Location of sighting: Connecticut Forest, USA

We learn from the past to understand the future sightings. They made no sound. They floated slowly. They were dark with some lights. These three things are important factors that future sightings might have. Which could validate a future sighting.

Full Report:
Last week, my friend and I were mountain biking in the Cockaponset State Forest. I think it’s in Middletown. We were riding for a couple of hours and were close to the Connecticut River and not far from the power plant (I think). Its hard to tell on the trail. It was getting dark and we were taking a short break before heading back to our cars. At first I didn’t even notice these things until my friend pointed them out. They were dark oblong shapes with some lights. Nothing bright and we didn’t hear any noise. They didn’t move for several minutes so I was able to take a few pictures. When they left they just floated away slowly. I’m only sending one because two of them didn’t come out, the digital camera doesn’t work well without much light and one of them you can see my friend. I didn’t send that one, because even though everyone rides out here we all know we shouldn’t be and I don’t want to get in trouble for trespassing. They could be helicopters or maybe a blimp of some kind, but I thought I would forward this to you for a better explanation.

UFO Observers NASA Apollo 7 Module In Earths Orbit, UFO Sighting News.

Date of discovery: June 4, 2020
Location of discovery: Earths Orbit
NASA Photo: https://eol.jsc.nasa.gov/SearchPhotos/photo.pl?mission=AS07&roll=7&frame=1864

This UFO is in an old Apollo 7 mission photo. Its on the official NASA website so there is no possibility of it being faked. The object is hovering over earth, but close to the Apollo 7 module. Aliens are deeply interested in historical events and often have a drone or piloted craft observing from a distance to see first hand how it all takes place. The written history and the actual history are often slightly different and in some cases incredibly different. So aliens try to observe first hand.

Two pyramids found on ocean floor, New Providence Island, Oct 2017, UFO Sighting News.

Date of discovery: October 18, 2017
Location of discovery: 6.6 km South of New Providence Island
Google coordinates:  24°56'26.50"N    77°19'39.35"W

I found these two pyramids on the ocean floor near New Providence Island. That is not far from Florida. The pyramids lines are easy to make out and are proof that the nearby island was once inhabited by an ancient Mayan or Aztec like people.

The two pyramids are not the same. One is a perfect three sided structure. The other has a mind layer where it had a step like area before it made it to the top. This one is very similar to Mayan pyramids in Mexico.

No, its not a UFO or alien sighting, but how do we know that these ancient structures were not built 50-100 million years ago? We don't. They could be the oldest known structures on Earth, and yet, lay unexplored in shallow water. Yes, they could have been built by ancient aliens and probably were.

This Day In UFO History, June 24, 1947 Kenneth Arnold UFO Sighting Took Place, UFO Sighting News.

Date of sighting: June 24, 1947
Location of sighting: Mt. Rainier, Washington, USA
Source:  http://www.fatemag.com/1948_Spring_Art2.html

The following story of what I observed over the Cascade mountains, as impossible as it may seem, is positively true. I never asked nor wanted any notoriety for just accidentally being in the right spot at the right time to observe what I did. I reported something that I know any pilot would have reported. I don’t think that in any way my observation was due to sensitivity of eyesight or judgment other than what is considered normal for any pilot. On Tuesday, June 24th, 1947, I had finished my work for the Central Air Service at Chehalis, Washington, and at about two o’clock I took off from Chehalis, Washington airport with the intention of going to Yakima, Washington. My trip was delayed for an hour to search for a large Marine transport that supposedly went down near or around the southwest side of Mt. Rainier in the state of Washington. (This airplane has been discovered at the time of this writing - July 29, 1947.) I flew directly toward Mt. Rainier after reaching an altitude of about 9,500 feet, which is the approximate elevation of the high plateau from which Mt. Rainier rises. I had made one sweep of this high plateau to the westward, searching all of the various ridges for this Marine ship and flew to the west down and near the ridge side of the canyon where Ashford, Washington, is located. Unable to see anything that looked like the lost ship, I made a 360 degree turn to the right and above the little city of Mineral, starting again toward Mt. Rainier. I climbed back up to an altitude of approximately 9,200 feet. The air was so smooth that day that it was a real pleasure flying and, as most pilots do when the air is smooth and they are flying at a higher altitude, I trimmed out my airplane in the direction of Yakima, Washington, which was almost directly east of my position, and simply sat in my plane observing the sky and terrain.

There was a DC-4 to the left and to the rear of me approximately fifteen miles distant and, I should judge, at 14,000 feet elevation. The sky and air were as clear as crystal. I had not flown more than two or three minutes on my course when a bright flash reflected on my airplane. It startled me as I thought I was too close to some other aircraft. I looked every place in the sky and couldn’t find where the reflection had come from until I looked to the left and the north of Mt. Rainier where I observed a chain of nine peculiar-looking aircraft flying from north to south at approximately 9,500 feet elevation and going, seemingly, in a definite direction of about 170 degrees north to south. They were approaching Mt. Rainier very rapidly, and I merely assumed they were jet planes. Anyhow, I discovered that this was where the reflection had come from, as two or three of them every few seconds would dip or change their course slightly, just enough for the sun to strike them at an angle that reflected brightly in my eyes. These objects being quite far away, I was unable for a few seconds to make out their shape or their formation. Very shortly they approached Mt. Rainier, and I observed their outline against the snow quite plainly. I thought it was very peculiar that I couldn’t find their tails, but assumed they were some new type of jet. I was determined to clock their speed. I had two definite points - Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams - to clock them by, and the air was so clear that it was very easy to see the objects and determine their approximate shape and size as far as fifty miles. I remember distinctly that my sweep-second hand on my eight-day clock, which is located on my instrument panel, read one minute to 3 P.M. as the first object of this formation passed the southern edge of Mt. Rainier. I watched these objects with great interest as I had never before observed airplanes flying so close to the mountain tops, flying directly south to southeast down the hog’s back of a mountain range.

I would estimate their elevation could have varied a thousand feet one way or another up or down, but they were pretty much on the horizon to me which would indicate they were near the same elevation as I was. They flew, as I have frequently observed geese fly, in a rather diagonal chain-like line as if they were linked together. They seemed to hold a definite direction, but swerved in and out of the high mountain peaks. Their seed at the time did not impress me particularly, because I knew that our army and air forces had planes that went very fast. What kept bothering me as I watched them flip and flash in the sun right along their path was the fact that I couldn’t make out any tail on them, and I am sure that any pilot would justify more than a second look at such a plane. I observed them quite plainly, and I estimate my distance from them, which was almost at right angles, to be between twenty to twenty-five miles. I knew they must be very large to permit me to observe their shape at that distance, even as clear a day as it was. In fact, I compared a zeus fastener or cowling tool I had in my pocket with them, holding it up on them and holding it up on the DC-4 that I could observe at quite a distance to my left, and they seemed smaller than the DC-4; but I should judge their span would have been as wide as the farthest engines on each side of the fuselage of the DC-4. The more I observed these objects, the more upset I became, as I am accustomed and familiar with most all flying objects whether I am close to the ground or at higher altitudes. I observed the chain of these objects passing another high snow-covered ridge in between Mt. Rainier and Mt. Adams, and as the first one was passing the south crest of this ridge the last object was entering the northern crest of the ridge. As I was flying in the direction of this particular ridge, I measured it and found it to be approximately five miles, so I could safely assume that the chain of these saucer-like objects was at least five miles long. I could quite accurately determine their pathway due to the fact that there were several of them as well as higher peaks on the other side of their pathway. As the last unit of this formation passed the northernmost high snow-covered crest of Mt. Adams, I looked at my sweep-second hand and it showed that they had traveled the distance in one minute and forty-two seconds. Even at the time this timing did not upset me as I felt confident that after I landed there would be some explanation of what I had seen. A number of news men and experts suggested that I might have been seeing reflections or even a mirage. This I know to be absolutely false, as I observed these objects not only through the glass of my airplane but turned my airplane sideways where I could open my window and observe them with a completely unobstructed view. Even though two minutes seems like a very short time to one on the ground, in the air in two minutes’ time a pilot can observe a great many things and anything within his field of vision probably as many as fifty or sixty times. I continued my search for the Marine plane, for another fifteen or twenty minutes, and while searching for this Marine plane the things I had just observed kept going through my mind. I became more disturbed, so after taking a last look at Teton Reservoir I headed for Yakima. I might add that my complete observation of these objects, which I could even follow by their flashes as they passed Mt. Adams, was around two and one-half or three minutes - although by the time they reached Mt. Adams they were out of my range of vision as far as determining shape or form. Of course, when the sun reflected from one or two or three of these units, they appeared to be completely round; but, I am making a drawing to the best of my ability, which I am including, as to the shape I observed these objects to be as they passed the snow-covered ridges at Mt. Rainier. When these objects were flying approximately straight and level, they were just a thin black line and the only time I could get a judgment as to their size was when they flipped. These objects were holding an almost constant elevation; they did not seem to be going up or to be coming down, such as would be the case of rockets or artillery shells. I am convinced in my own mind that they were some type of airplane, even though they did not conform with the many aspects of the conventional type of planes that I know. Although these objects have been reported by many other observers throughout the United States, there have been six or seven other accounts written by some of these observers that I can truthfully say must have observed the same thing that I did; particularly, the descriptions of the three Western Air Lines employees of Cedar City, Utah, the pilot from Oklahoma City, the locomotive engineer in Illinois, John Corlett, a United Press correspondent of Boise, Idaho. Dave Johnson, news editor at the Boise Daily Statesman, Captain Smith, a co-pilot Stevens and Marty Morrow of United Air Lines, and Captain Charles F. Gebian and Jack Harvey of United Air Lines both of whom on July 28, 1947, made their observation on United Air Lines flight 105 westbound out of Boise. It is my opinion that descriptions could not be very accurate taken from the ground unless these saucer-like discs were at quite a great height and there is a possibility that all of the people who observed peculiar objects could have seen the same thing I did; but, it would have been very difficult from the ground to observe these for more than four or five seconds, and there is always the possibility of atmospheric moisture and dust near the ground which could distort one’s vision while air observers I would judge to be much more accurate. I have in my possession letters from all over the United States and Europe from people who profess that these objects have been observed over other portions of the world, principally Sweden, Bermuda, and California. I would have given almost anything that day to have had a movie camera with a telephoto lens and from now on I will never be without one. When I landed at Yakima, Washington airport I described what I had seen to my very good friend, Al Baxter, who is the General Manager of Central Aircraft Company. He listened patiently and was very courteous but in a joking way didn’t believe me. I did not accurately measure the distance between these two mountains until I landed at Pendleton, Oregon, that same day where I told a number of pilot friends of mine what I had observed and they did not scoff or laugh, but suggested they might be guided missiles or something new. In fact, several former Army pilots informed me that they had been briefed before going into combat overseas that they might see objects of similar shape and design that I described and assured me that I wasn’t dreaming or going crazy. I quote Sonny Robinson, a former Army Air Force pilot who is now operating dusting operations at Pendleton, Oregon: “What you observed, I am convinced, is some type of jet or rocket-propelled ship that is in the process of being tested by our government or it could even be by some foreign government.” Anyhow, the news that I had observed these spread very rapidly and before the night was over I was receiving telephone calls from all parts of the world; and to date I have not received one telephone call or one letter of scoffing or disbelief. The only disbelief that I know of was what was printed in the papers. I look at this whole affair as not something funny as some people have made it out to be. To me it is mighty serious and since I evidently did observe something that at least Mr. John Doe on the street corner or Pete Andrews on the ranch has never heard about, is no reason that it does not exist. Even though I openly invited an investigation by the Army and the FBI as to the authenticity of my story or a mental and physical examination as to my capabilities, I received no interest from these two important protective forces of our country until two weeks after my observation. I will go so far as to assume that if our Military Intelligence was not aware of what I observed and reported to the United and Associated Press and over the radio on two different occasions which apparently set the nation buzzing, they would be the very first people I could expect as visitors. I have received lots of requests from people who told me to make a lot of wild guesses. I have based what I have written here in this article on positive facts and as far as guessing what it was I observed, it is just as much a mystery to me as it is to the rest of the world. I saw them and I know they are real. My pilot’s license is 33489. I fly a Callair airplane, which is a three-place single-engine land ship that is designed and manufactured at Afton, Wyoming, as an extremely high-performance, high-altitude airplane that was made for mountain work. The national certificate of my plane is NC-33355.

This Day In UFO History; Aliens Seen Through Windows of UFO In Medellin, Spain On June 14, 1974. UFO Sighting News.

Date of sighting: June 14, 1974
Location of sighting: Medellin, Spain

The month of June delivered yet another "animals" case. It was distributed in the Madrid evening paper Pueblo of June 22, composed by a columnist by name of J.M. Amilibia. Sr. Guerard includes that Sr. Amilibia has some expertise in writing about UFO sightings for Pueblo, and appears to be straightforward and earnest. He likewise kept in touch with the witness, however did not expect an answer, since he is a basic laborer and will be unable to compose. This was the daily paper report:

"Santiago Pulido Romero, 46, wedded, the father of six youngsters, conceived in and an occupant of Medellin (Badajoz), a sunburned and climate beaten outside man, is the observer in an incredible story, which he energetically advises to both doubters and devotees alike. Santiago isn't troubled by open mocking, and on the off chance that you let him know he's insane, he wouldn't fret. He truly couldn't care less, in light of the fact that he himself would have giggled only a couple days back on the off chance that another person had recounted to him the same story that he now tells.

He recounted to me his story on the spot where it occurred. Before us, we can see the Castle of Medellin, on top of a meseta, an imperative milestone in our history, where Calderon de la Barca composed his well known work 'Life is yet a Dream.' We are presently in a mud shaded field; to our privilege is a bunch of trees.

"The undertaking occurred at 5.30 a.m. on June 14, 1974, and as indicated by Santiago, this basic man who is totally adjusted, and would appear to be unequipped for such development, says: 'That morning (it was still dim), I was heading off to my dad's ranch, and on passing that bunch of trees, I was hit in the eyes by a solid light. I saw an entertaining looking contraption flying at a low level, somewhere in the range of 100 meters over the ground, I assume. It was going at an inconceivable pace, as quick as my sight could tail it. It was on one side of the stronghold, and as it was by all accounts coming towards me. I turned out to be frightened to the point that I imagined that I'd hop out of my skin. At that point I exchanged off my auto lights and proceeded in second apparatus, going moderate. I was shaking everywhere. Tune in! You can't envision what a huge impression a thing like that makes on a man! I'd simply jump at the chance to see another man in my shoes at once like that to perceive how he'd act! The thing is that this mechanical assembly tailed me for around 70 meters to my right side, and when I got to that slope over yonder, 1 exchanged the lights of my auto back on, and the contraption came towards me again at fast yet just to blur off when I turned out the lights. I got to the homestead and saw that it stayed close to the entryway, around 100 meters off the ground, moving upwards and downwards now and again. My first believed was to secure myself up in the house, and I did only this. At that point, subsequent to having recouped a bit, I turned out with a pitchfork close by, just in case...you can envision how startled I was; to such an extent, truth be told, that I was considering taking to the mountains where I know a couple of good spots to stow away out..."

"Despite everything he demonstrates the remaining parts of that frenzy on his face. Santiago talks flawlessly plainly, letting us know what he saw, orderly. On occasion, he shakes with feeling as the chill of apprehension helps him to remember the experience...

"When I left the house, it was stopping over the ranch. The light it radiated was intense to the point that it looked like daytime. It was exactly then that I got centering my headlights on it keeping in mind the end goal to see what was going on. At that point the thing set out toward me like a bat out of damnation; I turned out the lights again and it stayed calm for a minute and afterward started to climb and down."

"How did the device move?" I asked him.

"At rapid and turning in the same spot, in spite of the fact that now and again, it crisscrossed or stayed still, or influenced like a pendulum of a clock. For a minute it would resemble a star, and afterward, in the following minute, it was in that spot close to me. Now and again it appeared to me to move like a hurricane, you know what I mean? — like a fantastic maelstrom...Well, it's simply that I haven't the capacity to clarify it; words come up short me!"

"What shape would you say it was?"

"Round on the base and with a kind of cone-formed tower on top. The round part was straightforward and an awesome yellow light originated from inside it. The tower shone and resembled a metal structure."

"You say it was straightforward. Did you see anything inside when it gravitated toward to you?"

"Yes. I could see three men plainly. Three extremely tall men, more than two meters tall, who appeared to clutch some kind of control levers, and they were wearing some kind of caps on their heads. They were holding up. Tune in, man, this was truly something to see!"

"How enormous do you think the thing was?'

"The round part was around 20 meters in distance across; the tower, around 10 meters high."

"Did it make any unique sort of sound?'

"No. It moved in complete hush."

"To what extent did you watch it from the ranch?'

"Well, I'd say until the sun started to go down, around sevenish. It was then that it took off towards Villaneuva at a huge rate. At the point when my youngsters touched base at the homestead, I was still gray, as while as a ghost...If I live to be a thousand, I'll always remember that experience! Never, never, never. I swear that it was a horrible thing. You and all the rest can trust me or not, it's all the same to me. I know it is valid and that is the only thing that is in any way important. I was constantly exceptionally suspicious about such things; I used to imagine that they were the innovations of idlers and visionaries, only a considerable measure of garbage. In any case, now 1 realize that there's something to it."

"What do you think it is?'

"Creatures from different universes. What I saw, that device thing, is not from this world on the grounds that there can't be anything even comparative. All things considered, at any rate, this is the thing that I believe...because I never saw any semblance of such."

"What was the nearest you came to it?"

"Around 50 meters. It was dreadful, essentially unnerving. Thus noiseless thus splendid. Presently I've quit leaving the house in the early hours of the morning. Presently I sit tight for the sun to turn out before setting off to the homestead."

"This is the confirmation of Santiago Pulido. Be that as it may, then there were others from Medellin who likewise saw it. For instance, there was a young man, going to Medellin from La Oliva, who saw it from the street, and additionally two occupants of San Benito. They likewise say that two policemen from Medellin told their families that they had seen it as well. At any rate, it is a confirmation worth examining. One more story to add to the greater part of the others..."

Funny how your life can get turned upside down just because you see something. Kenneth Arnold's story is the story of a pretty straight guy. He was an Eagle Scout when he was a teen-ager. He worked for the Red Cross. He was an All-State football player in high school, with hopes of being a college star until a knee injury cut his football career short.

After college, Arnold became a salesman and learned to fly, combining the two by flying from small town to small town selling fire control equipment, eventually owning the Great Western Fire Control Supply Company. He was a member of the Sheriff's "aerial posse"of Ada County, Idaho, he was a relief U.S. Marshall, and he sometimes flew prisoners to the Federal Penitentiary. Flying his light plane, a Callair, was the basis of his livelihood.

In other words, he was the perfect UFO witness: a solid citizen, honest and trustworthy, married, with two daughters.

On June 24, 1947, he was returning home from a business trip when he made a detour into the Yakima, Washington area to help in an aerial search for a missing C-46 marine transport plane that was believed to have gone down in the area.

At around 3:00 in the afternoon, he was flying at about 9,000 feet, near Mount Rainier, when a flash of light caught his eye. He turned and saw a procession of nine very strange objects flying from north to south in front of his plane. They were flat and rather heel-shaped, very shiny, and they moved erratically, like a "saucer would if you skipped it across water." You can see Arnold's drawing of what he saw here. Arnold estimated their size at about two-thirds that of a DC-4, and he calculated their speed at over 1500 mph by timing their travel between two mountain peaks of known distance.

When he arrived at Yakima, Washington, Arnold told several other pilots about his sighting. The consensus among them was that it was some type of military "secret weapon". However, Arnold would later find that the U.S. military was as mystified by the objects as he himself was.

In Pendleton, Oregon, Arnold went to make a report to the FBI, but the local office was closed, so he talked to the editor of the East Oregonian newspaper instead and it was the editor who put the story on the newswires. Because of Arnold's background and reliability as a witness, the story got wide circulation. Here's Arnold's report in his own words.

What did Arnold see? Skeptics said everything from clouds to blowing snow on the mountain, to droplets of water on his airplane window. Here Martin Kottmeter shoots down some of the early theories of what Arnold saw. More recent explanations include Phil Klass' meteorite fragments and James Easton's white pelicans.

The June sighting and the resulting hoopla were not the end of Arnold's association with UFOs. On July 5th, 1947, Arnold was introduced to Captain E. J. Smith, who, along with his co-pilot and a stewardess, had seen a formation of UFOs over Emmett, Idaho. They hit it off well and became good friends.

In the middle of July, Arnold received a letter from Raymond Palmer, editor of the pulp magazine Amazing Stories. Arnold didn't know who Palmer was, since he didn't read the pulps. Palmer wanted Arnold to write down his experiences for publication in the magazine and he offered to pay. Arnold didn't particularly care about the money and sent Palmer a copy of what he had already told the newspapers and the Army Air Corps.

Later in July, a couple of Army Air Force intelligence officers named Lt. Frank M. Brown and Capt. William Davidson had a friendly meeting with Arnold. He gave them an account of his sighting and they asked him to report any further incidents to them. Lt. Brown filed a report giving his impression of Arnold's story.

This cylindrical-appearing UFO was photographed over New York City on March 20, 1950. The photographer's name was deleted from Project Blue Book's files -- as were most names when the material was finally declassified and released. Upon investigating the report, Project Grudge officially labeled it: "the moon"! Some ufologists have speculated that tubular objects of this sort may be "mother ships," purportedly capable of taking on and discharging smaller "craft" in stacks, poker-chip fashion.

This Day In UFO History: Nov 18, 2005, UFO Sighting News.

Date of sighting: Nov 18, 2005
Location of sighting: Norwich, England
Chance of being real: 90%

Something that is very important in this case is the fact that UFOs are often invisible to the naked eye, but the camera lens and sometimes properly filtered sun glasses allow these objects to be seen. SCW

Eyewitness states:
My husband photographed this object late last year. I had sensed it; however, the object wasn't visible at the time this photograph was taken.

What is interesting is that the landmark is less than 40 feet high, and the area it was photographed is a high street. There were a lot of shoppers that day and the public never noticed it. It was hanging there, invisible except to the camera.

Looking objectively, the object would have been quite large had it been visible. It made no noise. I have several other UFO photos, but this is really interesting, considering the sceptism of my husband.

Pilot’s UFO shock

by Joel de Woolfson

UFO sightings are being investigated by the Ministry of Defence.

Two experienced airline pilots on separate flights saw something up to a mile wide off the coast of Alderney on Monday afternoon.

Surprisingly, Jersey radar equipment did not pick up the object, although an air traffic controller said he had received simultaneous reports from the Aurigny and Blue Islands pilots.

Aurigny’s Captain Ray Bowyer, 50, said he saw the strange object during a flight from Southampton.

He spotted a bright-yellow light 10 miles west of Alderney while his plane was about 30 miles from the island and at 4,000ft.

‘It was a very sharp, thin yellow object with a green area. It was 2,000ft up and stationary,’ he said.

‘I thought it was about 10 miles away, although I later realised it was approximately 40 miles from us. At first, I thought it was the size of a 737.’

A 737 is slightly smaller than a jumbo jet.

‘But it must have been much bigger because of how far away it was. It could have been as much as a mile wide.’

As he continued his approach to Alderney, Capt. Bowyer saw a second identical object further to the west.

‘It was exactly the same but looked smaller because it was further away. It was closer to Guernsey.’

The sightings come days after reports that scientists have discovered outside our solar system an Earth-like planet capable of supporting extraterrestrial life.

‘I can’t explain it. At first, I thought it might have been a reflection from a vinery in Guernsey, but that would have disappeared quickly. This was clearly visual for about nine minutes.’

The sightings happened at about 3pm. Capt. Bowyer, who has flown commercial planes for about 20 years, said he had described the objects to air traffic control and filled in an incident report.

‘As I got closer to it, it became clear to me that it was tangible. I was in two minds about going towards it to have a closer look but decided against it because of the size of it. I had to think of the safety of the passengers first.’

He added that the experience had been quite scary.

‘I’m certainly not saying that it was something of another world. All I’m saying is that I have never seen anything like it before in all my years of flying.’

Paul Kelly, 31, the air traffic controller who was on duty, said the Blue Islands pilot had made a similar report, but nothing had appeared on his radar.

‘The pilot from Blue Islands was en route to Jersey at the same time and as he went past Sark he described an object behind him to his left,’ he said.

‘The description was very similar to Captain Bowyer’s and they described it as being in exactly the same place. But they were looking at it from opposite sides.’

The pilot told him the object had been 1,500ft beneath his plane.

‘The Blue Islands plane was at 3,500ft at the time so, again, both pilots placed it at the same altitude.

‘If the object was stationary, our equipment would not have picked it up because the radar would have screened it out.’

This Day In UFO History: Nov 23, 1953, The Kinross Air Force Base Incident (jet disappears while chasing UFO), UFO Sighting News.

Date of sighting: November 23, 1953
Location of sighting: Kinross Air Force Base,  Lake Superior, Michigan, USA
Source: Loy Lawhon, About.com

Summary:

On the evening of 23 November 1953, an Air Force radar controller became alerted to an "unidentified target" over Lake Superior, and an F-89C Scorpion jet was scrambled from Kinross AFB. Radar controllers watched as the F-89 closed in on the UFO, and then sat stunned in amazement as the two blips merged on the screen, and the UFO left. The F-89 and it’s two man crew, pilot Felix Moncla and radar operator Robert Wilson, were never found, even after a thorough search of the area.

"The Disappearance of Lt. Felix Moncla"

The channel that connects Lake Superior with the other Great Lakes flows through the Soo Locks near Saulte Ste. Marie, Michigan. On one side of the channel is the U.S., and on the other side is Canada. The fact that this area is on a U.S. national border makes it a restricted airspace. As such, it was monitored by the Air Defense Command in 1953.

On the evening of 23 November 1953, an Air Defense Command Ground Intercept radar controller at Truax AFB became alerted to an "unidentified target" over Soo Locks. He sounded the alert, and an F-89C Scorpion jet was scrambled from nearby Kinross Field. The jet was piloted by 1st Lieutenant Felix Moncla, Jr., with 2nd Lieutenant Robert Wilson in the rear seat as radar operator.

Ground Control vectored the jet toward the target, noting that the target changed course as the F-89 approached it at over 500 mph. Lt. Wilson had problems tracking the target on his onboard radar, so ground control continued to direct the jet to the target. For thirty minutes, the jet pursued the radar blip and began to close the gap as the UFO accelerated out over Lake Superior.

As Ground Control watched, the gap between the two blips on the radar screen grew smaller and smaller until the two blips became one blip. Ground Control thought that Moncla had flown over the target and that the two blips would separate again as he moved past it.

That didn't happen. Suddenly, the single blip flashed off the screen and the radar screen was clear of any return at all.

Frantically, Ground Control tried to contact the F-89 by radio. There was no response. Marking the last radar position, Ground Control dispatched an emergency message to Search and Rescue. That last sighting was about seventy miles off Keweenaw Point in upper Michigan, at an altitude of 8,000 feet, approximately 160 miles northwest of Soo Locks.

After an all night air/sea rescue search, not a trace of the plane or the men was ever found. No debris, no oil slick, nothing was ever found.

Officials at Norton Air Force Base Flying Safety Division issued a statement that "the pilot probably suffered from vertigo and crashed into the lake." However, this was merely speculation and was based on hearsay reports that Moncla was prone to vertigo.

The Air Force explained the unknown radar target at first as a Canadian DC-3, then later as a RCAF jet. Canadian officials responded that there were no Canadian aircraft in the airspace over the lake at any time during the chase. The Air Force finally stated that the F-89 had exploded at high altitude, ignoring the fact that this would have left a lot of debris on the lake surface.

NICAP investigators found that mentions of Moncla's mission - chasing an unidentified target - had been obliterated from official records. Project Bluebook files simply listed the case as an "accident."

Off the record, those that were present in the Ground Control radar room that day have expressed other opinions. They think that whatever the F-89 was chasing directly caused the disappearance of the jet...

This looks like the side view of a disk like craft not far from the Gemini 10 in Earths orbit. Why would aliens want to be there? To observe and learn about how humanity starts their space exploration program and what the future may be like for humanity once they discovery better and better means of travel though space. UFO Caught By Jean Pierre Haignere, Russian MIR Astronaut, 1999. Amazing Close Up Photo!

Date of sighting: Feb 20, 1999
Location of sighting: Earths Orbit
Mission: Russian MIR Station
Eyewitness: Jean Pierre Haignere

Take a look at this silver disk. Can the detail get any better than that? No way! This is one amazing photo of a UFO. There is no question whatsoever about that being a UFO. The design, shape, colour and disk shape all fit with eyewitness descriptions of such craft. The dark blue background makes the metallic of the UFO stand out even more. The above UFO was photographed by Russian astronaut Jean Pierre Haignere on the MIR station.

This is not the only Russian UFO sighting by far. For instance there is a lesser known sighting of in October of 1963, Moscow correspondents claim that widespread rumours tell how a 3 man spaceship orbited in Oct of 1963, was surrounded by a formation of fast flying disks which jarred the cosmonauts with powerful magnetic fields and almost brought the flight to a disastrous climax. (Source, No.4, Flying Saucers UFO Reports, p.13,14, Oct, 1967)

Then again in March of 1965, Cosmonauts Pavel I. Belyayev and Alexei A. Leonov went into orbit. The Moscow radio proudly announced that they would be making a "prolonged flight." But after only 18 orbits, the spaceship crashed back into the atmosphere, plunging into a snow bank 873 miles north-west of their planned target area. A few days later the luckless duo faced a press conference  in Moscow and revealed that they had seen "a satellite" which they couldn't identify shortly before disaster struck their spacecraft. As usual, the Tasss report on this press conference was ignored by the American  Press, even though newspapers in all other parts of the world carried it. (Source, No.4, Flying Saucers UFO Reports, p.13,14, Oct, 1967) This sounds very close to possibly being an encounter with the legenday "Black Knight Satellite."

What is the "Black Knight" satellite? It is a mysterious satellite, of unknown origin, discovered in 1960 which shadowed Sputnik. It is believed to have been of extraterrestrial origin, and signaled back old radio waves from the 1920s and 1930s before it disappeared. In short wave patterns analyzed by astronomer Duncan Lunan, revealed its origin as Epsilon Boötes (or the star system as it was 13,000 years ago). SCW
