And it looks like Smith may not be alone with his experience; the ABC station in Sacramento, Calif. reported people in that area saw something similar. The lights were even spotted in the Los Angeles area.

In Ashburn, Smith says he’s been out the last two nights, hoping he’ll see something. So far, there haven't been any other sightings.
